BKK

Went to Bangkok with my best friend, Fion, and her friends. All together five persons. One person extra. Abo, can take taxi to any places with cheaper sharing fare.

Well, have to admit that this trip wasn't as enjoyable as I previously experienced. In fact, it didn't feel like going to Bangkok at all. May be because the trip was too short, only 3D2N, and the area was full with Singaporeans, Malaysians and Indonesians.

I boarded Air Asia from Hatyai alone and would be meeting Fion and the gangs at the Suvarnabhumi Airport (สุวรรณภูมิ). They reached earlier so they waited for me. We promised to meet at the Information Counter(IC) as from the website, there is only one IC on Level 2. But heck no, there are more than one. Shit. I asked a lady working there where was the IC. And between giving me her you-owed-me-one-million-dollar-face and the cant-you-read-the-freaking-sign-board-face, she said that is the IC. And I asked again is there other IC on this level. She gave me the damn-you-why-are-you-asking-me-so-many-questions-face, she told me yes. I was about to ask her where are the other IC and saw her I-havent-reached-orgasm-in-gazillion-years-face, I gave up asking. Fuck her. Land of smiles, my ass. Thank Zeus for phone roaming, Fion called me and we met at the 3rd Entrance.

From there, we took the MPV taxi, which cost us 700 baht. If there was only 4 of us, we could have save a lot. Anyway, screw that. So, camwhoring started. In the taxi. Did I tell you how much I hate cam-whores and cam-whoring? I tell you now. I HATE IT VERY MUCH!! Like FREAKING HATE IT!

Ok, here are the taxi-cam-whored-pictures-because-we-dont-have-taxi-in-Malaysia-and-some-say-Singapore

Reaching the hotel, of course we checked-in. Those bellboys were so tiny. They looked like my students and underage. Okay, skip that. The hotel we stayed was Baiyoke Boutique Hotel. Fion booked it thru Agoda.com, which guaranteed low price. Our room was RM85 per night for two single-beds. The hotel was good, no cockroaches, rats, dead man, Freddy Krueger look-a-like, and the bathroom was clean. But some taxi driver didn't know where it is. Just tell them it is behind Baiyoke Sky which is Thailand tallest building. It is not that tall BTW.

The first place we went was Platinum Fashion Mall which is very near to the hotel. The bellboy took us on a I-am-not-a-golf-cart-I-am-slightly-bigger so we didn't have to walk much. And guess what? CAM-WHORES ALERT!!

Along the way to Platinum Fashion Mall, there was street full with small traders. And people. So so crowded. After went thru that throng of breathing humans (SARS, H1N1), we reached Platinum. At there, nothing to describe, just shop shop and shop. Not very cheap actually, if you earn Malaysian Ringgit. One thing have to be careful beside your wallets and your heads, always double check the things you bought. Not the quality, but the quantity and the colours and the size. I get three bikinis, instead of four. But their bikinis damn cheap. I would suggest that you replace the padding they gave with a better quality ones tho. Just a thought. Most of the sellers there damn arrogant. Land of smiles, my ass times two. We were there until near closing. Fion and I went into mostly every shops. *hands down* *clap clap*

The next day, we went to JJ. JJ is easily reached by BTS. Been there several times. So, we decided, no, I decided, that we should take BTS. From the hotel website, it stated that it only takes 10 minutes walk to BTS Sky Train at Chidlom Station and Phayathai Station. Yeah right. May be there is a shortcut that i don't know of. That route was freaking far. I knew because Fion and I went jalan-jalan to that area the night before (yeah, we saw the Central World ruined-parts caused by the stupid-blood-coloured-shirt protestors). So, the hotel staff suggested that we took BTS at Ratchathewi Station which he said was "nearer". For the love of Venus, it wasn't that near but acceptable distance if you don't carry 5kg results-of-shopping-spree. BUT, I saw the apartment that they used to film Love Beyond Frontier (อุบัติรักข้ามขอบฟ้า). So it was kinda worth the walk. BTW, the fare was 30 baht per person. Should have taken the taxi if there were only four persons. And what else would you do while at the skytrain station. Yeah, you know the answer.

Angela and I

Reached JJ. It didn't change much. The last time I was there was five years ago. Fion and I were there until 7pm (Malaysia time). From 9am to 7pm. Geng!

The third day, we went home.

See, told ya this trip was boring. Glad to be home. IN PIECE.

*snoring*
