Probably around this day a year ago that I called and told you that I would be back to Alor Star in 2 months time. Told you to wait for me. Silly me. Who would want to wait for me? You did, you waited. But not long enough. You should have waited for my arrival on early October, not in the middle of August! Silly me. Who would want to wait for me till the month of Oct. Probably Paul the Oct would, but not you.
I'm sorry I played the waiting game with you.
I should have returned home when mom told me you fell. I never knew it would be the thing that took you away from me. I thought you were strong. You never fell ill, you were always healthy. But you were 82. Silly me.
I read "Twenties Girl" by Sophie Kinsella and I cried. Because I related that story to you. Sadie was like you, always was in her twenties. Full of life. Never needed anyone help. Because you were a strong woman. A woman in her twenties who was strong and confident. Unlike me, 24 and weak. Silly me.
Here's a song to my dearest maemae and my friends, Ng Poh Ngoh and Tan Woan Yin.
"Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven"
"Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven"
"Beyond the door, there's peace I'm sure. And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven"
RIP.
I am so sorry. May them rest in peace. Btw, beautiful song.
ReplyDeleteRIP.
ReplyDeleteClapton wrote this song for his four-year-old son that passed away. RIP to that kid too.
